I'd like to trade books, but you know I wouldn't give the Mononoke book back. Sorry. ;)

I'll take a look for little notes like you describe. The one you mention could be sage advice to the young artist who just loves to blow stuff up without questioning why.

Yes, it was I. And yes Miyazaki did the boards. We should trade books somtime. I like the little notes on the camera moves at the end of the book. It's mostly basics like pans etc, but some places there are notes like " have something you want to express before using effects".

Wait a minute. YOU'RE the one who got the Mononoke book! Did Miyazaki storyboard that one? I don't think I saw that on the shelf. If so, I probably would have snatched that one up.

!!! So you're the one that snatched the Totoro book! I was at Kinokuniya too not too long ago, and couldn't find the title I want. But I got the "mononoke" storyboard book. Amazing economy of line and yet detailed backgrounds. It is very inspirational. The "kiki's delivery service" book is really good too.
The riceballs are the best!! equivalent to PBJ.
